drip
The city streets resonate with rain
as strangers in spirit, but not in name,
ask each other forsaken questions
only to echo anecdotes in quick succession
The sun sets and the torrents fade,
the silences longer and voices softer,
we can finally hear each other
in the slow murmur of water drip.
